BANKING SITUATION ANALYSIS OF ECUADORIAN SMES AND PROSPECTS FOR SOLUTIONS TO THEIR CURRENT SITUATION

Abstract

Small and medium-sized enterprises are fundamental to energize Ecuador's economy; however, they often face difficulties in obtaining bank financing. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the context of Ecuadorian SMEs and to offer perspectives of solutions that contribute to their permanence in the market, For this purpose, a descriptive-correlational qualitative study was carried out with a documentary design that includes the review of national and international research related to the situation of banking and SMEs, as well as the reflection of the opinions of the general managers of financial institutions and executive directors of these companies in the country, and the study was supported by the best current financial practices. The purpose of the findings is that, based on the understanding of the situation faced by these corporations, effective strategies for access to financing and their financial sustainability can be proposed.
